Subsidence occurs as a result of changes in the moisture content of soil, usually in relation to vegetation, a predominance of clay soil in the area, or through leaking drains. The most common cause is vegetation, a problem exacerbated greatly during long dry summers – an increasingly common phenomenon in the UK. Damage normally becomes apparent in the form of cracking to the exterior and/or interior of a building. At this stage buildings are often ‘monitored’, using ‘Level Monitoring’ and/or ‘Crack Monitoring’, to establish the cause of damage and also to make sure the problem has been successfully remedied. MHN offers a simple, economical and effective monitoring programme. We provide a prompt, professional product for our clients, coupled with a service that offers, reassuring and knowledgeable technicians for their property owners.
